Crush's Miraculous Adventure
On Tuesday, October 27, little Crush got his head and foot stuck in the little Steamboat Arabia at the bottom of his tank. Being a reptile and needing to swim to the surface for air, the poor little guy drown. One of our students discovered that he was stuck. Ms. Parson quickly pulled him from the tank and freed him from the ship. Unfortunately, Crush was not breathing and unresponsive.
Needless to say, both the students and Ms. Parson were heartbroken. Not wanting to accept the fact that Crush was dead, Ms. Parson went into rescue mode. After a few shell compressions and a few puffs of breath, little Crush's head and legs gave a little jerk. The Turtle CPR worked!
After a few hours under a heat lamp, Crush was back to his feisty little self. We are happy to report that Crush is showing no ill effects of his little adventure to the other side.

Science Journals
Throughout the school year, students will be keeping a science journal. Entries will consist of vocabulary words, the defintions and colored sketches illustrating the concept, along with notes and charts containing important information. Journals will be collected and graded for each unit after the unit test.
Throughout the school year, students will be keeping a science journal. Entries will consist of vocabulary words, the defintions and colored sketches illustrating the concept, along with notes and charts containing important information. Assignments
All assignments are required to be completed in pencil unless otherwise instructed. Students should label assignments with their first name, last initial, date, date due and homeroom teacher. Work is due the next class time, unless otherwise noted, therefore work not completed during class time will need to be taken home as homework.
Assignment Books
Each day planners are marked with a small stamp (such as a paw print or star) to let parents know that I have checked to see that the assignments were written down. If your child has a missing paper, a larger stamp is used that says "Incomplete."
Late Assignments
If an assignment is not turned in on the assigned due date, the following reduction in grade will occur:
One day late: reduction of 25%
Two days late: reduction of 50%
Three days late: reduction of 50%
Four days late: reduction of 75%
Five days late: zero credit received
